Gorgeous Italian Romance at La Badia di Orvieto

Set exterior of a hill city within the Umbria area of Italy, LA BADIA DI ORVIETO is a Benedictine abbey constructed round 1100 that now serves as a stunning lodge and marriage ceremony venue. The house is a mix of medieval citadel vibes with its tower and ruins and the romantic Romanesque chapel with thirteenth century frescoes. Cypress bushes line the driveway, and an olive grove borders the venue for the proper Italian countryside vibe. For this marriage ceremony editorial captured by Louisiana wedding photographer FAITH ROPER, the bride, Carlotta, wore a lace REEM ACRA robe embellished with delicate pearl beads and carried an outsized bouquet of white and cream peonies, roses, ranunculus, and extra. The fragile florals and lace of the robe stand in distinction in opposition to the uncooked texture of the stone and ruins. The good-looking groom wore a traditional black tuxedo. Religion tells us, “Designed and styled by JANNA BROWN DESIGN with further coordination by CHE CHIC WEDDINGS our day started with separate bridal and groom portraits within the candlelit stone chapel and its fresco adorned room. Paper items by PRAIRIE & SAGE are becoming for the medieval citadel meets Italian countryside type. Our ceremony was set within the courtyard with darkish picket chairs becoming a citadel celebration. The reception was held below the dramatic archway ruins, with spherical tables laden with lush bouquets of white and cream florals, together with probably the most beautiful peonies you’ve gotten ever seen. Couple portraits across the venue ended with a stroll within the olive grove at sundown to benefit from the view of the Orvieto skyline with the Duomo because the star.”
